Inițiativa privind păstrarea dreptului de veto al României în UE a trecut de Senat. Senatorii AUR cer tragerea la răspundere a Oanei Țoiu

The Romanian Senate adopted a declaration affirming the country's right to protect its national interests within the EU's Common Foreign and Security Policy. This initiative, proposed by AUR, demands clarification on whether Foreign Minister Oana Țoiu had a clear mandate for signing a document that limits the use of veto and expands qualified majority voting. The declaration emphasizes the need for parliamentary consultation before any decisions that could alter the decision-making balance in foreign policy. AUR argues that the right to veto is crucial for safeguarding national interests and criticizes the lack of transparency regarding the minister's mandate. The declaration was passed with support from PSD, AUR, and PACE, while PNL and USR opposed it.
