INHGA: Debitul Dunării, la intrarea în țară, va scădea la 1.400 mc/s şi rămâne mult sub media multianuală a lunii august

The National Institute of Hydrology announced a decrease in the Danube's flow at the border to 1,400 mc/s, expected to remain stable until next week. This level is significantly below the August average of 3,900 mc/s. Hydrologists noted that the low flow is due to a lack of precipitation in spring and early summer. Operations to displace a rock near the Bala arm were successful, aiming to raise water levels by 10-12 cm to support local infrastructure. Despite forecasts of a decrease, water levels at the Cernavodă Nuclear Power Plant increased by 2 cm, attributed to these operations. The government declared a national alert due to reduced electricity production from low river flows, urging the public to conserve energy.
