ING: Europenii ar fi putut avea cu 1,17 trilioane de euro mai mult
Households in the Eurozone could have had an additional €1.17 trillion in wealth by 2025 if they had invested a quarter of their bank deposits in investment funds since 2002. If the same amount had been invested in listed stocks, the wealth increase could have reached €2.79 trillion, equivalent to 17.7% of the Eurozone's GDP. Despite increased savings, a significant portion remains in bank deposits, while investment in funds and stocks is lower. However, households are starting to shift their investments towards stocks and funds, with deposits decreasing in share. Younger generations show more interest in investing, although financial literacy remains a challenge, with many viewing investments as gambling. Countries like Sweden and Denmark demonstrate that investment behavior is influenced by institutions rather than culture.
