Infringement împotriva României pentru impozitarea câștigurilor la bursă. Investitorii care folosesc brokeri străini plătesc taxe mai mari

The European Commission has initiated infringement proceedings against Romania for discriminatory tax treatment of capital gains based on the broker's location. Investors using foreign brokers face higher tax rates compared to those using Romanian intermediaries. This discrepancy violates EU rules on the free provision of services. Romania has two months to respond to the Commission's concerns. The tax regime for local brokers imposes a lower rate on long-term holdings, while foreign brokers are subject to annual declaration and higher rates. The Commission aims to eliminate barriers in the single market and enhance investment access for EU citizens.
