In August 2026, the annual inflation rate decreased to 6.2% from 8.2% in July, according to the National Institute of Statistics. Consumer prices rose by 0.22% compared to the previous month, with significant increases in fuel prices. Gasoline prices increased by 6.64% in one month, while diesel rose by 6.12%. Compared to December 2025, gasoline is up 25.43% and diesel 35.75%. Food prices fell by 0.71% in August, with notable decreases in vegetables and fruits. However, some food items like oil and pork saw price increases. Service prices rose by 0.71% from July and are 11.28% higher than in August 2025, with rents increasing by 39.70%.
