In July, the annual inflation rate in the EU rose to 3%, with Romania experiencing the highest rate at 8.2%. While inflation decreased in 15 member states, it increased in nine. The eurozone's inflation also increased to 2.9%. Services contributed significantly to inflation, followed by energy and food prices. The National Institute of Statistics reported a decrease in Romania's inflation from 10.42% in June to 8.16% in July, with services seeing the highest price increase. The National Bank of Romania revised its inflation forecast for the end of 2026 to 5.5%.
