Inflația din 2026 ar putea urca spre 6,9%. BNR păstrează flotarea controlată a leului, chiar dacă fluctuațiile vor fi mai flexibile – BCR - Economica.net

The recent depreciation of the Romanian leu and the central bank's increased flexibility in its managed float regime may lead to an inflation rate of 5.9% by year-end, according to BCR's analysis. The bank anticipates a 0.7% contraction in Romania's economy this year. BNR has kept the reference interest rate unchanged at 6.50%, expected to remain until at least May 2027 due to persistent core inflation. Future inflation is projected to rise until late 2026, influenced by fuel and energy price increases. BCR forecasts inflation at 6.4% for this year, potentially revised to 6.9% depending on upcoming CPI data. Economic recovery is expected in 2027, with GDP growth accelerating to 2.2%.
