Inflation in Romania rose to 6.6% in September 2026, with significant price increases in rents and fuel. Rents surged by nearly 40% year-on-year, while diesel prices increased by over 37%. The consumer price index showed a 0.77% rise from August to September 2026. Other notable increases included water and sanitation services, which rose by 14.11%, and medical care services, which saw an 8.53% increase. Food prices also rose, with coffee prices up by 13.78%. Overall, service prices experienced the highest annual increase at 11.12%.
