Inflația a coborât la 6,2% în august, dar este cea mai mare din UE

In August 2026, Romania's annual inflation rate decreased to 6.2%, down from 8.2% in July and over 10% earlier. Despite this decline, Romania still holds the highest inflation rate in the EU, with service prices rising by 11.2%. The National Institute of Statistics reported that food prices increased by only 2.62%, while non-food items rose by 6.36%. Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan highlighted the positive trend in inflation, attributing it to societal efforts, but warned against reverting to previous deficit models. He emphasized the need for the future government to continue these efforts to fully realize Romania's potential.
