Two people died and hundreds were evacuated due to simultaneous wildfires on the Greek island of Salamina, near Athens. Strong winds caused rapid fire spread, damaging homes and creating panic. Emergency services mobilized boats for evacuations, with around 380 people rescued from the sea. Authorities issued immediate evacuation warnings for several localities, coinciding with a busy holiday period. Nearly 200 firefighters were deployed to combat the flames, which began around 2:40 PM and spread quickly.
