The Romanian Navy has officially received nine AAV-7 amphibious assault vehicles, part of a larger order of 65 from the U.S. worth $210 million. These vehicles can transport a crew of three and up to 21 fully equipped soldiers or five tons of cargo. The AAV-7 is designed for operations on land and water, making it suitable for the Danube Delta and Black Sea coast. The first batch of vehicles is part of a contract initiated in 2023, with deliveries scheduled between 2026 and 2031. The regiment has previously trained with these vehicles alongside the U.S. Marine Corps since 2011.
