Romania's industrial production decreased by 3.3% in the first half of 2026 compared to the previous year, primarily due to a 4.4% drop in manufacturing. The extractive industry also saw a decline of 1.5%. The only sector with positive growth was energy production and supply, which increased by 3.3%. In June, industrial production rose by 1.3% from May, but was down 3.5% compared to June 2025, with manufacturing down 3.9%. Adjusted figures showed a 5.2% decline from June 2025, mainly due to a 6% drop in manufacturing.
