Romania ranks last in Central and Eastern Europe but 13th globally for AI outsourcing readiness, according to Ataraxis's 2026 Global Outsourcing AI Readiness Index. The study evaluates 25 outsourcing destinations based on AI adoption, workforce literacy, corporate readiness, and educational capacity. Romania trails behind Hungary, Czech Republic, Bulgaria, and Poland, with a score of 59.4. Central and Eastern Europe averages 63.88 points, outperforming Latin America and South Asia. The region excels in educational preparation for AI, with Czech Republic and Poland in the global top five. The index highlights the growing importance of AI skills in outsourcing.
