The Romanian automotive industry, which generated €44 billion in 2025, is experiencing a decline in production by 7.8% in 2026. In the first eight months of 2026, car production reached 319,750 units, down from 346,800 units in the same period of 2025. July saw a production of 49,171 cars, while August recorded 12,607 units. Dacia and Ford's production numbers have also decreased compared to the previous year, reflecting the ongoing crisis in the European automotive sector.
