India has lifted its wheat export restrictions, potentially easing global supply pressures exacerbated by the Russia-Ukraine conflict. The government had previously halted exports in July 2022, resuming them partially this year with a cap of five million tons. The new regulations allow for the export of various wheat products, which could benefit countries reliant on imports amid disruptions in the Black Sea region. India's wheat production reached a record 120.6 million tons, but the government had prioritized food security over exports since the onset of the war.
