The military advised the public to stay indoors and report any low-flying or suspicious objects. The alert lasted about 30 minutes until the object left Latvian airspace. Ukrainian military drones have previously entered the airspace of several Baltic states, causing security alerts. Russia has accused Ukraine of using NATO airspace for attacks, while Ukraine claims Russian jamming has diverted some of its drones. This incident follows a similar alert in Romania due to drone incursions.
