Romania is conducting a driver census, where selected drivers will answer a short, anonymous questionnaire about their travel purpose and route. This initiative aims to gather data for improving road infrastructure. Most drivers will be counted automatically, while those stopped will provide details on their journey, including origin, destination, and reason for travel. For passenger vehicles, the number of passengers will be recorded, and for trucks, the cargo will be noted. The data collected will remain anonymous and will assist in traffic analysis and future infrastructure planning. The stops will occur from 8 AM to 12 PM and 2 PM to 6 PM, starting today until November 4, every Wednesday.
