The Bucharest City Hall has announced the start of restoration works at Curtea Veche, the city's first royal court and oldest medieval monument. The project, costing two million lei, will last three months and aims to secure and preserve the site, which has suffered from neglect and deterioration. Initial efforts will focus on repairing roofs and protecting walls, with a temporary roof to facilitate ongoing archaeological investigations. Previous attempts at securing the site were abandoned, highlighting the importance of this historical landmark for the city's identity, having been home to notable rulers like Vlad the Impaler and Mihai Viteazul.
