WALDEVAR has commenced work on a 10 MW floating photovoltaic park on a Hydroelectrica reservoir, marking a significant step in renewable energy transition. The project combines floating solar technology with hydroelectric infrastructure, enhancing energy generation efficiency. Initial investigations included hydrological assessments and sediment analysis to inform the design. The hybrid system will integrate hydro and solar energy production, optimizing existing infrastructure and allowing centralized monitoring. The project, valued at 39.25 million lei, is expected to be completed by autumn 2023, representing a pioneering effort for Hydroelectrica in floating solar technology.
