Wildfires in Greece have reached beaches, prompting evacuations by sea for hundreds of people. Porto Germeno was isolated, and over 254 individuals were rescued from Agios Vasileios. The fires, fueled by strong winds and drought, have affected more than 70 areas, leading to significant destruction. Emergency services issued evacuation orders for nearby communities, while efforts to control the fires continue. The situation remains critical in some regions, although conditions have improved in Crete.
