Two people died and nine required medical attention due to wildfires on the Greek island of Salamina, near Athens. Authorities issued an evacuation order affecting hundreds of tourists and locals. Firefighters reported that the deceased were found near Peristeria beach, where one fire continues to burn. Another fire ignited simultaneously in Selinia, impacting residential areas and pine forests. Approximately 200 firefighters, supported by volunteers and aerial units, are working to contain the blazes. Evacuations by sea have already begun, with around 90 individuals rescued. Salamina is a popular vacation spot for Athenians.
