The fires, particularly severe in southern Crete, prompted emergency evacuations in multiple areas. Authorities successfully relocated around 2,000 tourists from Agia Galini to safer locations. Nearly 190 firefighters, supported by various vehicles and aircraft, are battling the ongoing blazes. The situation remains critical, with additional fires reported across Crete and warnings of high fire risk continuing.
