On September 28, 2026, the Romanian Railway Reform Authority (ARF) conducted a preliminary reception of two Traxx Passenger electric locomotives, LE12 and LE13, at Alstom's depot. This included a Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) to verify the locomotives' compliance with technical specifications. The locomotives are part of a contract for 16 multisystem electric locomotives intended for public transport services. Ownership transfer will occur after endurance tests and final reception. The project aims to enhance energy efficiency and reduce carbon emissions in rail transport, with a total project value of approximately 441 million lei, funded by the Modernization Fund.
