A video shows the nearly completed Curtea de Argeș tunnel on the A1 highway, with potential early opening for traffic. The project is part of the 9.86 km Section 4 of the Sibiu-Pitești highway, and construction is progressing rapidly. The contractor, Porr, is currently laying the final asphalt layer. Officials suggest that the section could open six months ahead of schedule, allowing traffic on 54 km of the highway by August 2026, instead of February 2027 as initially planned. The project is funded through the Transport Program 2021-2027.
