Înaltul Comisar al ONU pentru drepturile omului solicită evacuarea a 6.000 de marinari blocați în Strâmtoarea Ormuz

The UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Volker Türk, has called for the protection and evacuation of 6,000 sailors trapped in the Strait of Hormuz due to ongoing conflict. He urged states and relevant actors to ensure access to consular assistance and essential supplies. The conflict, sparked by US and Israeli attacks on Iran, has led to maritime blockades, with Iran threatening vessels that do not comply. Many sailors are reportedly abandoned and face severe conditions aboard their ships. The total number of maritime deaths since the conflict began has reached 17, highlighting the urgent need for safe passage and evacuation of trapped sailors.
