Înalta Curte s-ar putea pronunţa în procesul cu Guvernul privind restanţele salariale ale magistraţilor - Economica.net
The High Court of Cassation and Justice is set to deliver a final ruling on a case regarding unpaid salary rights for magistrates, following a previous ruling in their favor. The case, currently in appeal, involves a claim for approximately 5 billion lei in back pay due to retroactive salary increases mandated by court decisions. The government has been ordered to execute the payment within ten days, facing penalties for delays. The government has raised constitutional concerns about the court's authority to mandate budget allocations. Additionally, the interim Prime Minister announced plans to refer the matter to the Constitutional Court, arguing that the judiciary is overstepping its bounds in budgetary matters. The budget proposal for 2026 includes significant funds for the High Court to address these salary arrears, which have accumulated since 2018 due to previous salary increases.
