This contrasts with the European average of 45 kilometers. Despite the shorter distance, 53% of Romanians take longer than 45 minutes for their commute, with 16% spending at least 90 minutes daily. The study highlights a mobility issue rather than just distance, as the average commuting time exceeds the 51 minutes that employees are willing to spend. In Bucharest-Ilfov, the average commute is 73 minutes for just 16 kilometers, with over half of respondents spending at least an hour on the road.
