Romania will introduce PIAAC tests for ages 16-65 starting in 2028, assessing reading, math, and problem-solving skills. Selected participants will receive 50 euros. Recent PISA results show a decline in Romanian students' performance, particularly in reading, where they lost 16 points compared to 2022. Romania ranks low in the EU, ahead of only Bulgaria and Cyprus, and performs worse than non-EU countries like Montenegro and Albania. Average scores for PISA 2025 include 425 in science, 413 in reading, and 419 in math, with digital problem-solving assessed for the first time at 442 points, placing Romania in the lower half of the international ranking.
