The "Behind Your Screen" app aims to educate young people about the mechanisms that keep them glued to screens. It will involve 3,500 students as an educational tool to promote awareness of social media usage. Launched by the European Commission's Representation in Italy, the app targets middle school students, helping them understand content flows and algorithms that contribute to digital addiction. The initiative encourages students to question their online experiences and the influence of advertisements. Developed by Vik School, this project builds on previous efforts to combat misinformation and aims to foster a deeper understanding of the digital landscape among youth.
