The construction of the Unirii Slab in Bucharest is progressing, with over 75% of the new structure completed. Advanced tunneling machines will be used to enhance the Dâmbovița River's transit capacity. The project aims to finish the concrete slab by the end of the year and restore the park area by early next year. Additionally, significant waste removal has been achieved in the area, and two large pipes will be installed to manage excess water flow. The project was previously stalled but received additional funding in April 2023 to address the deteriorating condition of the slab, which posed seismic risks.
