În America Latină, influenţa Chinei este percepută ca fiind mai pozitivă decât cea a SUA, arată datele unui sondaj Latinobarometro
A recent survey indicates that Latin Americans view China's influence more positively than that of the United States for the first time since 1995. The proportion of respondents who see China's impact as favorable rose from 48% to 65% since 2020, while the U.S. dropped from 60% to 57%. Marta Lagos, director of Latinobarometro, noted that China has gained favor by providing cheaper imported goods. Despite this shift, the overall image of the U.S. remains slightly better, with 63% holding a favorable opinion compared to 58% for China. However, the negative perception of former President Trump has affected the U.S.'s standing in the region, especially after a significant drop in favorability since Biden's presidency.
