The coins, buried nearly 900 years ago, are considered one of the largest medieval treasures ever found in the region. They were likely minted in Prague between 1085 and 1107 and were stored in a sealed ceramic vessel that has since broken apart. Archaeologists used metal detectors to locate and document each coin, which contained a mix of metals. The discovery occurred during a politically unstable period in the region, and the value of the coins at the time was immense, comparable to winning a jackpot today. Experts identified the coins as being issued by three rulers from the Přemyslid dynasty, indicating their origin and historical significance.
