In 2015, Sunil Lalvani was inspired to act after witnessing children drinking from a puddle in Ghana. He established Project Maji, which has since provided over 126 million liters of clean water to more than 380,000 people. Initially a corporate social responsibility project, it has evolved into a nonprofit focused on solar-powered water systems for rural communities. Project Maji has expanded operations from Ghana to Kenya and Uganda, aiming to ensure reliable access to clean drinking water for one million people in rural areas.
