Thailand's Queen Suthida made her solo flight in a JAS-39C Gripen fighter jet, marking a historic first for a reigning queen. The flight took place after her military training at Wing 7 in Surat Thani, with King Maha Vajiralongkorn observing from the ground. Upon landing, the king presented her with flowers and a gold insignia. The aircraft featured a special tail design commemorating 15 years of Gripen service in Thailand. Queen Suthida has over 1,188 flight hours and has trained on various aircraft, including commercial jets. Thailand operates 12 Gripen jets, which have seen combat in border conflicts with Cambodia.
