Local police in Sector 1 of Bucharest will use body cameras during interventions, transmitting real-time footage to dispatch. The recordings will be stored for six months and can serve as evidence for complaints. The initiative aims to protect both citizens and police officers. A total of 130 cameras have been provided, ensuring coverage for all shifts. The system enhances situational awareness for dispatch personnel and promotes accountability. The cameras complement an existing network of over 1,700 fixed surveillance cameras in the sector.
