Director Romeo Urjan warns of a forecasted drop of 30 cm, which could force reactor closure in five to seven days. Recent interventions, including rock blasting and barge sinking, have temporarily extended operations by a few days. Each reactor requires significant water for cooling, equivalent to an Olympic swimming pool every minute. Without further measures, the situation remains critical, with ongoing efforts to manage water levels. Unit 1 is scheduled for a two-and-a-half-year upgrade starting in December 2027.
