Cristian Pistol, the CEO of CNAIR, reported that the physical progress of Section 3 of the Sibiu-Pitești Highway is nearing 19%. Currently, 1,200 workers and 522 machines are on site, focusing on various construction tasks, including the Poiana Tunnel, Romania's first highway tunnel built with a TBM. The construction consortium is working on earthworks and structures across 30% of the site. A revised Environmental Agreement is awaited to proceed with construction permits for other sections. The project, valued at 5.323 billion lei, aims to navigate the Carpathian Mountains with complex tunnels and viaducts.
