He acknowledged the public's efforts to reduce energy consumption and the contributions from storage facilities. The energy deficit caused by the reactor's closure will be compensated through solar sources, imports, and hydroelectric plants. Nuclear energy production in Romania reached zero after the controlled shutdown due to low Danube water levels, a first in 23 years. Cernavodă's nuclear plant, operated by Nuclearelectrica, typically provides about 20% of the country's electricity.
