This system aims to shift consumption from peak hours to cheaper periods. Interim Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan emphasized the importance of strategic energy projects to avoid future crises. He noted that delays in such projects have long-term consequences on the energy system's functionality. The Cernavodă nuclear power plant faced operational challenges due to low water levels in the Danube, leading to a controlled shutdown of one unit. A national alert was declared due to reduced electricity production caused by drought conditions.
