The High Court of Cassation and Justice has definitively rejected the National Liberal Party's appeal regarding a 14 million lei payment to the Permanent Electoral Authority. This case involves campaign financing for the 2024 presidential elections, where the party spent 17 million lei, including on promotional materials. The Electoral Authority later found that 14 million lei of this amount was improperly funded by state subsidies, leading to a repayment order. The PNL's legal challenge against this decision was dismissed by both the lower court and the High Court.
