The Court sided with the High Court, which had previously ruled in favor of the judges regarding salary arrears resulting from retroactive increases. The High Court demanded the Government pay 4.8 billion lei in salary arrears and penalties, with a daily penalty of 1% for delays. The Government argued that the court's decision exceeded its authority and could destabilize the annual budget.
