Ilie Bolojan, apel către români: Reduceți consumul de energie între orele 20:00 și 23:00. Situație critică la Cernavodă

Interim Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan urged the public and large industrial consumers to voluntarily reduce electricity consumption between 8 PM and 11 PM due to critical energy shortages caused by the shutdown of two reactors at the Cernavodă Nuclear Power Plant. This unprecedented situation arises from extremely low water levels in the Danube, which have forced the plant to halt operations. The two reactors typically provide about 20% of Romania's electricity, and their closure necessitates increased energy imports and reliance on gas and renewable sources. Bolojan emphasized the importance of reducing consumption during peak hours to manage the energy deficit effectively.
