Ilie Bolojan, apel către români după oprirea reactoarelor nucleare de la Cernavodă: „Cetățenii României să aibă grijă cât consumă în orele de seară”

Interim Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan announced that the shutdown of two reactors at Cernavodă due to low Danube water levels will lead Romania to increase energy imports. He highlighted that the reactors produced around 1,300 MW, nearly 20% of the country's energy consumption. The most critical import period is in the evening when demand peaks. Bolojan urged citizens and large companies to voluntarily reduce energy consumption during peak hours. The situation may last one to two weeks, as forecasts do not predict significant rainfall to raise the Danube's water level.
