Interim Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan indicated that the Cernavodă Nuclear Power Plant may restart operations towards the end of September, depending on the Danube's water levels. Due to current drought conditions, the plant has been unable to function, unlike other plants on the main river. Bolojan warned that energy prices might rise this autumn due to summer imbalances, necessitating the use of alternative energy sources. He assured that once the plant resumes in October, it would stabilize the energy system, contributing significantly to production. Additionally, two large power plants are expected to begin operations this winter, potentially increasing energy supply and reducing prices in the following year.
