The High Court of Cassation and Justice confirmed the sentence on September 22, 2026, regarding Alexandru Mihailiuc, who was accused of manipulating witness statements and falsifying documents during his tenure. The court emphasized the importance of integrity and legality in judicial roles, highlighting that the offenses were committed while he was acting as a magistrate. Mihailiuc was also charged with misappropriating funds seized during searches, failing to return them within the legal timeframe, and later coercing witnesses to provide false testimonies.
