Hub de Securitate Maritimă de la Marea Neagră: drumul spre operaționalizare

The security of the Black Sea region has become a strategic priority for the EU, especially after the Ukraine war highlighted vulnerabilities in navigation and critical infrastructure. In response, the EU adopted a Black Sea Strategy in 2025, proposing a maritime security hub to enhance surveillance and information sharing. Romania and Bulgaria are leading the initiative, with plans to connect the hub to existing European maritime information mechanisms. The hub aims to protect critical infrastructure and improve regional cooperation, with support from various stakeholders, including the European Parliament. While the concept is established, further steps are needed for full operationalization, including funding and regional collaboration.
