Hipertensiunea ar putea accelera artroza. Cercetătorii au descoperit legătura dintre tensiunea mare și degradarea cartilajului

A recent study from South Korea suggests a significant link between high blood pressure and the worsening of osteoarthritis, highlighting the role of the hormone arginine-vasopressin. Researchers found that individuals with hypertension are more likely to develop osteoarthritis, particularly women and those with severe knee damage. Experiments on mice showed that hypertension exacerbates cartilage loss, but only in conjunction with joint injury or aging. Blocking the AVPR1A receptor reduced cartilage degradation, indicating potential new treatment avenues. Further long-term studies in humans are needed to confirm these findings and explore prevention strategies for osteoarthritis.
