Hidroelectrica will increase the price of active energy for new customers and expiring contracts from October 2026, raising it from 0.45 to 0.515 lei/kWh. This adjustment reflects a 13% increase, which is below the cumulative inflation during the unchanged price period. The final price impact is about 7%, influenced by rising costs and unfavorable hydrological conditions. The company has faced significant challenges, including low water availability affecting hydro production. Despite these pressures, Hidroelectrica aims to maintain competitive pricing for residential consumers, absorbing some cost increases. The new price applies only to new customers and expiring contracts, with no retroactive effect.
