Hidroelectrica mai mult şomează în timpul zilei

Hydroelectric plants in Romania are underutilized during the day, primarily operating in the morning and evening. Recent data shows a significant drop in hydro energy production during midday, often reaching historical lows. This trend is influenced by the high output of solar energy and low river flows, which limit water reserves for peak demand. Consequently, gas and coal power plants are producing more energy than hydro plants throughout the day. The role of hydroelectricity has shifted to frequency regulation and meeting demand during non-solar hours. Hidroelectrica remains the largest and most profitable state-owned company, listed on the stock exchange with 10% of its shares.
