Hidroelectrica is investing nearly 300 million lei in energy storage at Porțile de Fier II, enhancing production optimization and flexibility. The project includes a 64 MW battery storage capacity with 434.76 MWh. CEO Iulius-Dan Plaveti emphasized the importance of building infrastructure for efficient renewable energy use. The investment aims to create a balanced and resilient portfolio, responding better to market conditions. Additionally, the project receives 43.4 million lei funding from the Modernization Fund to support energy storage development.
